Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Do I need to make a reservation?
Yes, while we always try to accommodate walk-ins, we ask that you make a reservation to guarantee an appointment at the time that you wish. We’re also happy to take group reservations, but we suggest giving us a call several weeks in advance to ensure you get exactly what you’d like. We also recommend making a reservation to reserve the couples suite.
What should I bring with me?
We provide everything you need to relax and enjoy your spa experience. We’ll give you a complimentary locker to store your belongings and a robe and slippers to lounge in.
What should I wear during my massage?
It’s completely a matter of personal preference. Many guests choose to disrobe completely, whereas others prefer to leave their undergarments on. Either way, our massage therapists are professionally trained to keep your body entirely covered throughout the massage, aside from the area being worked on, to ensure your privacy.
What is customary when it comes to tipping?
Holistic Spa therapists work hard providing each and every client with an unrivaled experience. Therapists appreciate gratuity.
Where do I park?
All of our locations have off-street parking. Our Revere, Massachusetts location has plenty of street parking and designated parking spaces on the Lantern Road side of the building.
Will my time spent in the spa facilities take away from my massage time?
Of course not! We take into consideration that time you will be spending in our spa facilities when booking your appointment; however, if you would like additional time in the spa facilities, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment.
Do you have gift certificates?
Yes, you can purchase gift certificates at any of our locations. Unfortunately, you cannot purchase gift certificates over the phone, via email or online. Gift certificates are final sale and non-refundable.
What are the benefits of a back walking massage?
Back walking massage, also known as ashiatsu (meaning foot pressure) has been practiced for centuries in Japan. The technique has been reinvented and modified through many other cultures. Massage therapists from all over the world have added their own style to provide personalized treatment. The massage therapist uses their body weight and feet to achieve deep tissue pressure in tight areas. Back walking will enhance your joint flexibility, help lessen chronic muscle pain, improve blood flow, release trigger point tensions, stimulate your lymphatic system, and improve your overall relaxation and well-being. Watch our therapist demonstrate a back walking massage session on our YouTube channel –> Holistic Spa Therapy Center Back Walking Session.
Does massage therapy strengthen your immune system?
A massage could boost your immune system and help you fight off the cold or flu this season! Research has shown that receiving regular massage therapy can help you flush toxins and increase blood flow throughout the body. This increases the activity of white blood cells that are used to fight viruses, diseases and infection and decreases the stress hormone. Not only will you feel better after a massage, it’s good for you also.
